Terms of Service
The short version
- You own the videos and feedback you put in dancerly. We only use them to run the service for you and your team.
- Only upload videos you’re allowed to share, and make sure the people in them — especially minors — are okay with it.
- You must be at least 14 to use dancerly.
- dancerly is free during early access. We’ll tell you well in advance before anything costs money.
- This summary isn’t part of the terms. Please read the full text below.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of dancerly (“dancerly”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of the dancerly website and app and any related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.
If you use dancerly on behalf of a team, school, studio, or other organization, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
2. Who can use dancerly
- You must be at least 14 years old. If you’re under the age of legal adulthood where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms with you.
- You can’t use dancerly if you’re barred from doing so under applicable law, or if we previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current — it’s how you sign in and how we reach you.
- Keep your password secure and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed it.
- One account is for one person.
4. Projects and teams
- Work in dancerly happens in projects. Whoever creates a project is its owner (shown as “Owner” or “관리자”). Owners can invite and remove members, change project settings, and delete the project.
- Anyone with a project’s invite link can join it. Owners decide who gets the link and can turn links off at any time.
- Content you add to a project — videos, notes, replies, sketches, pages, and the like — is visible to the project’s members, except private notes, which only the sender and recipient can see.
- If you leave or are removed from a project, content you added to it stays in the project so the team’s history isn’t lost, unless you delete it before you go. If an owner deletes a project, everything in it is deleted for everyone.
- The sample project is fictional demo content created for you. Its teammates are not real people, and nothing you do there is sent to anyone.
5. Your content
You own your content. “Your content” means anything you upload or write in dancerly, including videos, audio, images, notes, sketches, and messages. We don’t claim ownership of it.
So that we can run the Service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process (for example, compress videos and make thumbnails), display, and transmit your content — but only to provide, secure, and improve the Service for you and the people you share it with. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups or where the law requires us to keep them. We don’t sell your content, and we don’t use your videos to train AI models.
You’re responsible for your content and confirm that you have the rights needed to upload it and to grant this license.
6. People in your videos
Rehearsal videos usually show other people — their faces, bodies, and voices. Before you upload a video or add someone to a project, make sure the people in it know it will be shared with the project and are okay with that. If a video shows anyone under 18, you’re responsible for having their parent’s or guardian’s permission where the law requires it. Team owners such as coaches, studios, and schools should collect any consents they need from their members (and their guardians) under their own policies. If someone asks you to remove a video they appear in, please respect that request.
dancerly doesn’t use facial recognition or create biometric identifiers from your videos.
7. Music and copyright
Rehearsal videos often include recorded music. dancerly is meant for private feedback within your team. Don’t use dancerly to publish or distribute other people’s music, and be thoughtful when sending share links outside your team.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on dancerly infringes your copyright, email our contact address with: your contact details; the work you believe is infringed; the link or location of the content; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove the content and will tell the uploader, who may respond with a counter-notice. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t use dancerly to:
- upload content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, harassing, or violent, or that invades someone’s privacy — any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the authorities;
- bully, threaten, or humiliate anyone, including through feedback or sketches;
- upload malware, or try to break, overload, probe, or get around the security of the Service;
- access other people’s projects or data without permission, or scrape the Service;
- resell or rebrand the Service, or use it to build a competing product; or
- break any law or anyone else’s rights.
We may remove content or limit accounts that break these rules (see section 13).
9. Share links
You can create a read-only link to a video. Anyone who has the link can watch that video and its team-visible notes, without an account — private notes are never included. Only share links with people you trust, and turn a link off when it’s no longer needed. You’re responsible for the links you create.
10. AI features
Some features, such as “Summary by AI” (recaps), use an AI model to summarize your team’s notes. To do this we send the text of the relevant notes and related details (such as names and video titles) to our AI provider, which processes them only to produce the summary and doesn’t use them to train its models. Videos are not sent. AI output can be incomplete or wrong — check it against the notes it cites before relying on it. You decide whether to use AI features and with whom to share their results.
11. Fees
dancerly is free during early access. We plan to offer paid plans later. We will never charge you without your explicit agreement. Before introducing fees for features you already use, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and the chance to export your content or stop using the Service. Paid plans, if you choose one, will have their own clearly stated price, billing, renewal, and cancellation terms, including any refund rights you have under consumer protection law.
12. Early access and changes to the Service
dancerly is in early access. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes that affect you. Please keep your own copies of anything important — dancerly isn’t a backup service.
13. Ending your use
- You can stop using dancerly and delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. You’ll confirm with your password, and you can download your data first. We delete your account and personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
- For each project you manage that teammates still use, you’ll choose to hand it over to another member or delete it for everyone. Projects you hand over, and the calendar events, pages, and requests you set up in them, stay with the team without your name.
- We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, creates legal risk, or harms others or the Service. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first, explain why, and give you a chance to respond and to export your content. We may act immediately where the law or safety requires it.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after your use ends (such as 5, 14, 15, and 16) continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, dancerly isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 100 (or the equivalent in Korean won). These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, including for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
16. Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be handled by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer living in the EU, the UK, or another country whose laws give you the right to rely on your local consumer protections or bring claims in your local courts, nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here with its effective date and tell you in the app or by email at least 7 days before it takes effect — or at least 30 days before, if the change is unfavorable to you. If you don’t agree, you can stop using dancerly and delete your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
